RIPXL Returns With ‘Atlanta Is Burning’

RIPXL’s “Atlanta is Burning” is short and to-the point, but in the best way. The opening track “BURN” sets the tone with a skeletal, nocturnal beat, with RIPXL dropping a brief verse and having a sample from the Atlanta news round out the end. The sample touches on three of the countless violent murders that have taken place in Atlanta this year alone. This dark reality is an underlying theme throughout the album, but RIPXL touches on a number of lyrical topics.

While RIPXL, is clearly cut from the same cloth as his Atlanta trap contemporaries, his versatility and unique mic presence set him apart on “Atlanta is Burning.” R&B cuts like “Find Love” and “Intentions” featuring Bludwork offer a refreshing break from the aggression and chaos RIPXL is looking to capture, as he even finds himself breaking into his singing voice for the “Find Love” hook.

A recent co-sign from Atlanta beatmaker icon Danny Wolf has created some extra buzz around the release of this project. The producer and founder of Chaos Club described RIPXL being next up out of Atlanta, and he is definitely leading a new class of Atlanta artists heading into this summer.
