North Carolina group, Young Bull is defined by their smooth, distinctively Southern sound and their casually versatile lyricism. Young Bill has begun to attract international attention and over the course of a few short years, they have racked in over 8 million organic streams on Spotify alone, and continuing to gain numbers. On July 28th, 2021 - “Black Crown” was released and demonstrates exactly why, in 2020, Rolling Stone magazine cited Young Bull alongside Rapsody and 9th Wonder as key players responsible for shaping North Carolina into a hotbed of independent music. The versatile collective composed of rapper Christian Sinclair, soulful vocalist Mique, and producer Solomon Fox have already embarked on several successful East Coast tours – including sharing bills with the likes of Anderson Paak, Miguel, and Erykah Badu. The track has a cinematic, powerful quality to it that would not be out of place in movie soundtracks like Black Panther and Judas and the Black Messiah. Backed by hard hitting 808s, lush harmony and break-neck snares, Mique and Christian Sinclair navigate idiosyncratic vocal pockets, giving their audience a unique window into their mind’s eyes, as they rep their hometown of Bull City (Durham, North Carolina).
