R&B Artist ImSoMaleek Sets Modern Tone with ‘Soul Shift’ EP

When you consider the history of Rap, Hip-Hop and R&B, the Bronx is one of those places that has been the foundation of many careers. For singer-songwriter ImSoMaleek, the NY borough has provided the building blocks that have seen him release two albums and an expanding catalogue of singles since 2016. Most recently, he’s coming off the release of his EP ‘Soul Shift,’ which features five tracks that display the rising talent’s skills.

Music has been in ImSoMaleek’s life from a young age. Touring with Kenny Rogers when he was only seven and performing the role of Simba on Broadway with the Lion King, there is no doubt that he has the musical pedigree that speaks to everything he does. Influenced by Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, Queen, Usher, Tyrese, Tank, Musiq Soulchild and Pharrell, there is no doubt that his songs feature that classy, silky-smooth sound that he so admires.

Migrating between Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz, drenched with delectable grooves that wrap you in a liquid and effortless vocal embrace, ImSoMaleek has announced his arrival as an artist at the top of his game. His songs are deep, laidback introspective into the heart of R&B before it became consumed with the commercial excesses of today. It harks back to the time when the vibe not the bling where what mattered. Brilliantly constructed and composed, it is clear that his journey has been underpinned by a desire to deliver the best music around today and his audiences will be the grateful beneficiaries of that dream.

With his latest EP ‘Soul Shift’ and another album in the works called ‘King of The Hill’, ImSoMaleek is destined to be a star of the future. So evocative of the past but with the skills of a world unimagined, he is undoubtedly an artist that can rise to the top and stay there.
