Malik Moses' "Show Me Something" Is A Soulful Debut You'll Have To Hear To Believe
Since hip-hop’s titans spent the better part of the summer dominating headlines with beef and (just okay) records, it seems like we’ve reached a bit of a fall-time lull. Luckily for us, the culture’s newest artists are rising to the occasion and putting 2021 on their backs. This week Baltimore rapper/singer Malik Moses makes a stunning debut with “Show Me Something” - a soulful and cathartic bop that is a must-listen this fall season.
You probably haven’t heard of Malik Moses before, which would make sense. He’s the first signed artist under NoName Recordings - the new label from industry legend MixedByAli (Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino). Malik’s debut single “Show Me Something” sports a guest verse from Dreamville’s very own Bas, but somehow despite being introduced alongside a prominent rapper and engineer, Malik Moses manages to outshine them both with a refreshingly heartfelt performance. “Show Me Something” is perfect for fans of Smino or Saba, as hip-hop fans old and new will rejoice over Malik’s dynamic vocal ability, clever writing, and signature style.
With more music (hopefully) planned for release before the end of the year, Malik Moses is without a doubt an artist you’ll have to keep your eye on. It’s only a matter until he’s everywhere, so consider this an invitation to be an early fan to hip-hop’s next big star. Stream “Show Me Something” ft. Bas below.
