CU Student and Musician Jack Moe Releases Album, ‘Happy Jack’

The CU Boulder student’s anticipated,  eclectic and luminous hip hop album draws inspiration from rap legends such as the late Mac Miller, Logic and Kid Cudi. Like those artists and so many other individuals, old and young especially, Moe has battled his own mental health issues.  “Songs such as “Breathe,” “Swimming in Circles,” and “Road That I’m On'' explore the struggles of living with depression and anxiety and hopefully inspire my fans and listeners alike to focus on the people and things they love” says Jack Moe. Reeling from the untimely death of his close friend and manager Jack Nathan last summer, the twenty one-year-old singer-songwriter composed his lyrics and crafted his melodies as an emotional journey inspired by his friend’s life, values and message. Moe’s debut single, “Best I Can Be,” dropped June 18th with an official music video.  In this empowering song, Moe raps that “stringing these letters together” have become a “mission” and “vision” of overcoming the darkness, of “outshining where he’s been to.”

In homage to Jack Nathan, Moe titled his album Happy Jack. Also, a clothing and art brand his friend founded that promotes the message, “It’s okay to not be okay,” and encourages art as a mental health coping mechanism. With the help of music manager David Nathan, who is also Jack Nathan’s father, Moe drew on Jack’s raw yet inspiring messages to fuel his creative process.

Behind the vision and inspiration of Jack Nathan, the industry prowess of David Nathan, the college ambassadors across the country that work with Happy Jack and the musical talents of Jack Moe, Happy Jack becomes the music for our time--a breakthrough album.  Every track a timeless, yet timely “lap for victory” of the human spirit. With this album, Moe cements a legacy much deeper than making a name for himself.  He makes an everlasting impact by touching others with his creative mind, sharing his knowledge and experience and making a real difference in this world we all live in today.
